Susan Meaney

Susan Meaney, a Managing Director, is responsible for overseeing Makena’s real assets investments, including real estate and natural resources. She is a member of the firm’s Investment Committee. In Makena's first decade, Susan defined the strategic direction and led the implementation of its real estate and natural resources strategies. Prior to joining Makena, Susan was the Director of Real Estate and Real Assets Investments for the William & Flora Hewlett Foundation where she was responsible for the investment and oversight of the Foundation’s real assets portfolio. Prior to joining the Foundation in 2002, she served for eight years as a Managing Director at the Stanford Management Company where she was responsible for the development and management of 700 acres of Stanford University’s commercial real estate holdings. Susan was previously a Vice President with AEW in Boston. She began her career at Eastdil Realty in New York and Bain & Company in Palo Alto.

Susan is a former member of the Investment Committee of the Dartmouth College Endowment and a Member of the Board of Overseers of the Tuck School at Dartmouth. She serves as a Member of the Investment Committee of the William and Flora Hewlett Foundation. Susan also currently serves as a Member of the Board of Governors for SPIRE (Stanford Professionals in Real Estate) and is a Member of the Bing Overseas Study Program Council at Stanford University. Susan graduated from Stanford University with a BA with Honors and earned an MBA from the Tuck School at Dartmouth.
