Joseph Magher, a Managing Director, is responsible for advising Makena’s endowment and foundation clients on the integration of alternative investments into their respective portfolios. Joseph also assists endowments and foundations with portfolio transitions and implementing proper governance practices. Previously, he worked at Morgan Stanley as a Vice President, advising institutions on their hedge fund portfolios as well as advising hedge funds on capital raising and strategic business matters. Joseph spent four years at Credit Suisse First Boston in Private Wealth Management advising high net worth families and foundations on alternative investments. He began his career in Buenos Aires, Argentina at a Salomon Smith Barney affiliate covering local pension funds and Latin America focused investment funds. Joseph received a BA in Economics from University of Virginia and an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business.
