Dr. Robert L. Joss was Dean of the Graduate School of Business at Stanford University, from 1999 to 2009. Prior to working at Stanford University, Mr. Joss was the Chief Executive Officer of Australia’s Westpac Banking Corporation, one of Australia’s largest banks. Prior to Westpac, Mr. Joss spent 22 years with San Francisco-based Wells Fargo, holding a variety of positions and served as Vice Chairman for his last 7 years. Before joining Wells Fargo, he worked in Washington DC, first as a White House Fellow and then for the Treasury Department as deputy to the Assistant Secretary for Economic Policy. He is currently a director of Citigroup, Bechtel Group, and SRI International.
Dr. Joss was a Sloan fellow in 1965-66, earned an MBA in 1967 and a PhD in 1970 from the Stanford Graduate School of Business. He also holds a BA in economics, magna cum laude, from the University of Washington.
